Re:        Annual Statistics Update

Friends,

It is statistics time again! The online system for entering church statistics is now open and available. You can begin to enter your stats as soon as you are ready.

Though the location of the link to access has changed with the new PC(USA) website, the survey you will fill out is largely the same as last year. They recently added an option to the section on gender of members for non-binary folks, who identify neither as male or female. As with the questions on racial identity and on counting attendance when we have folks worshiping online, use your best judgment, do what you think makes sense for your context, and don’t stress over it. I’m happy to talk this through with you if you’d like, but whatever process makes sense to you is the right one. I have also included the resource sheet from OGA which includes information on what they mean by various categories.

The sooner you begin to enter your information the better. The system gets slower as more people are logged in to it at the same time, and our world is full of procrastinators, trust me, experience talking…. Also starting early will give you time to ask any questions which might come up.

Instructions for Completing the On-Line Session Annual Statistical Report:

      –    Data must be entered ON-LINE at
https://pcusa.org/resources/statistics-lists/statistical-reporting-faq

      –    Click on ACCESS THE SYSTEM;
Log in using your PIN and PASSWORD

      –    Deadline is Thursday, February 13, 2025

DON’T FORGET: The Session needs to approve the Session Annual Statistical Report as early as possible after December 31, 2024. This is a Session report and DOES NOT require approval at a congregational meeting. Please enter this report on-line immediately following Session’s approval.

All statistics must be completed on-line by Thursday, February 13, 2025 at midnight. Please contact me if you need help, my cell phone is (732) 887-2540. I am happy to answer any questions which may arise. Please do not contact the Office of the General Assembly with these questions. Churches submit the statistics to the Presbytery which is responsible for ensuring the data is collected, and then sent to the Office of the General Assembly.

Your passwords are the same as they have been in years past.  If you don’t have your password, please contact Jeremy.

The data you enter this year for statistics will be the basis for your 2026 per capita which will be calculated in the fall of 2025. Please ensure you enter your membership accurately so you aren’t assessed more than you should be. Also, please remember the Presbytery must pay the full GA and Synod per capita based on your reported membership numbers whether we receive it or not.

Please know how much I appreciate your hard and diligent work. It is a great service to our churches and vitally important in a rapidly changing ministry context. Your steady leadership and support of the session in each of your churches is absolutely vital. I continue to be overwhelmed by the “energy, intelligence, imagination and love” you all have displayed.

Wishing you all the best in this New Year!

Thank you for your support and prompt attention.
